This is an example of a typical “Six Point Ignatian Prayer.” I found this on the Sacred Space website. I hope that the principles in this old prayer will become a helpful tool in your prayer closet. The Presence of God “Be still and know that I am God.”
Lord, Your words lead us to the
calmness and greatness of your presence.
FreedomIt is so easy to get caught up
with the trappings of wealth in this life.
Grant, O Lord, that I may be free
from greed and selfishness.
Remind me that the best things in life are free.
Love, laughter, caring and sharing.
ConsciousnessTo be conscious about something is to be aware of it. Dear Lord help me to remember that You gave me life. Thank you for the gift of life. Teach me to slow down, to be still and enjoy the pleasures created for me.
To be aware of the beauty that surrounds me. The marvel of mountains, the calmness of lakes, the fragility of a flower petal. I need to remember that all these things come from you.
The Word (Here you would insert any scripture text you’re currently reading)
Help me, Lord, to notice how you are speaking to me.
ConversationJesus you speak to me through the words of the gospels. May I respond to your call today. Teach me to recognise your hand at work in my daily living.
ConclusionGlory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
